We are continuing to work on writing letters to friends and teachers in White Oak Primary School. In math, we worked on even and odd numbers as well as skip counting and problem solving. today was PE day and we had free play. Beginning today we are starting to study presidents and what it takes to be president.
Continue to bring box tops.
Today we celebrated Valentine’s Day by having a party. We played Valentine bingo and opened our Valentines. It was a wonderful party and we enjoyed it very much! Today was our CHAMPS assembly over self-control.

We worked on adjectives by writing kind adjectives about one another. Tanner showed honesty and courage outside at recess. We are continuing to bring our Valentine cards for the party tomorrow.

Valentine party is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1:30. We are using a wonderful website to research. You may access this website at facts4me.com. It is open from 8:30 – 5:30. Your child should know the username and password.

Today we worked on our letter to our friends. The part of the letter we worked on was the body. Hopefully, we will finish our letter tomorrow! We also went to music and picked out songs to listen to. In writer’s workshop we worked on our stories. Cory shared his book about books.

Today we made Valentine bags. Tomorrow we can begin to bring our Valentine’s for the class. We went to PE and played Chinese freeze tag. Some of us published books and shared today. Tanner shared his deer hunting book, Jasmin shared her Clifford book, and Kaydyn shared her pig book. We started new reading centers.

Today was the 100th day of first grade. We read 100 day books, we guessed our 100 items, and drew ourselves at 100 years old. Today we went to PE and jumped rope. We went to the science lab for the first time this week. In science lab we are working on studying penguins.

We are continuing to work on our blog and keep you updated with what we do at school. Today, we finished our letters to Tacky and Mrs. Ray hung them up in the hall after we shared them. Today was our first CHAMPS assembly. We learned about self-control.
