We got to do number corner this morning. Jada really loves when we stretch our bodies through exercise and skip counting. Next, we did reading centers. Logan enjoys getting to play games on the computer this week, but next week he will write a story on the computer. Our reading this week are working on readers’ theater plays. We will be traveling to kindergarten and second grade classes Friday to perform. After independent reading we went to music instead of ready bodies. Haleigh thought our day went by fast because we were really busy all day.

We had a new math sentear where we could only use triangles to solve puzzles. Then we had to count how many triangles we used. The students that went to the new center had fun. Reading contest ends May 4th. Each student gets one ticket each night their reading log is signed. We will draw for the bikes next week.

Homework in my folder.

During writers’ workshop we wrote about being a frog. Jada thought it would be fun to croak, Khloe would be sad if some kids got her, and Reagan would live in the pond for a week then move to the woods. Friday is our Authors’ Tea for our parents. We have been practicing reading our stories loud and fluently. The sky was sunny today so we were able to go outside for recess. During music we did spotlight dance with Mrs. Kimbley. That is where a light stops on one person at a time and they dance. We thought it was real fun! Today after music we had a character ed lesson over honesty. The lesson focused on not stealing. Math focused on shapes and 3-D figures today. Tomorrow we are going to learn a new math work place called, Last Shape in Wins.

Spelling test on Friday, April 23.

The first thing we did today was number corner. Gracie’s favorite activity at number corner is counting money. This afternoon we went to PE and played Flag Tag. We are starting to read books about Froggy. He is a fictional character and we are going to do a character study over him. Today we read Froggy Gets Dressed. In the book he was forgetful and his mom yell for him to remember what he forgot. Michael thinks Froggy is a funny character and likes that he does silly things.
