Wear team shirt tomorrow. Continue to send boxtops.
We are currently tied for first place in the Box Top Bowl. Please continue to send box tops since the contest is coming to an end. Today was a good day because we worked on problem solving and math stations. Since it is Wednesday we went to ready bodies to continue working on balance and focus. This week is Red Ribbon Week and we are learning about harmful drugs and their effects. We are also practicing saying “NO” to drugs. There are only 3 more days until HALLOWEEN!!! We are sooooo exited!
Check out our pictures from “Use your head, Say “NO” to Drugs!”
Book order in my folder. Wear red tomorrow. Early release tomorrow at 11:00.
We have a very busy week this week. We are celebrating Red Ribbon Week and learning about saying no to drugs. Also, we are working on problem solving in math and creating stories about The Great Pumpkin. Continue to read nightly with your child each night and check back daily for updates.
Read note in my folder and wear crazy socks and sunglasses on Monday.
Today we won the trophy at lunch. Which is good because we are working on self-control. The pizza at lunch was really good today! Last week we decorated paper jack-o-lanterns with glitter glue and they are hanging from the ceiling in our classroom. After lunch we read some great Halloween books, Froggy’s Halloween and The Night Before Halloween. We went to reading centers today and worked on problem solving.
Spelling test and school pictures tomorrow.
Pictures are tomorrow. These pictures are for the yearbook and are prepaid only . Please send money tomorrow in the order form provided in your child’s folder if you would like to order pictures.
Yesterday was our field trip. We had fun but we were tired when we got back so we did not blog. Pictures from the field trip will be on our blog and/or website starting tomorrow afternoon, so please check back then to see the pictures.
It was a beautiful day so we were able to play outside for recess even though it was starting to get cool. In math we learned a new center that involved subtracting to find a difference. During reading centers we are typing about our trip to the pumpkin patch. During ready bodies we continued to work on balance and Mrs. Peery said we were great today!
Read the orange note in my folder.
Tomorrow is our field trip to the pumpkin patch. (YIPPY!!!) We are so excited and can hardly wait. We partcipated in a fire drill today and we think we did a pretty good job of getting out of the building. In math we are still working on addition and subtraction so we read a good book called How Many, How Many, How Many. Since it is Monday we went to PE with Coach Underwood. This week we are working on a reading/writing connection using the book It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. We will be writing about the Great Pumpkin this week.
Field trip on Tuesday.
We had a good day today. One reason is we ate pizza for lunch. Since today is Friday, we were able to go the prize baskets in exchange for our paw prints. For recess we got five extra minutes and went outside to play. It was cool but then the sunshine came out and warmed things up. We watched 2 podcasts, one was our class video of I’m a Little Roughneck and the other one was a presentation from Artsview called The Littlest Pumpkin in the Pumpkin Patch. You can watch our podcast on our class website. We wrote Carter a birthday book and we wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Read and sign blue note in my folder.
Today was a great day because we went to the new computer lab with our new Mac computers. This morning we create jack-o-lanterns out of construction paper and put glitter glue on them. They will be hanging from our ceiling until Halloween. We are still enjoying having our new student, Emily, in our class. At lunch today, WE WON THE TROPHY!!! That means extra recess tomorrow.
Read orange note in my folder.
Our field trip has been postponed until next Tuesday, the 20th. Please send sack lunch and drink with your child on Tuesday. Only six more days until our field trip. Today we went to ready bodies and did our warm-up, then did our centers. We went to the science lab today and continued to explore change. In math, we began working on subtraction.
