Spelling test on Friday.

Today during math we worked on problem solving. We watched an awesome bus safety video. In writing we started our F is for First Grade book. Today we went to exciting PE with Coach Underwood and played soccer.

Spelling test next Friday, May 1st.

Today we went to PE and played freeplay. At lunch we ate pizza with cake and salad. This morning we did our readers theater for half the primary. In math we had math workplaces. We are working on counting money and putting money together during math. Also, today was our CHAMPS assembly over honesty.

Today we had to write lines. The reason we did this was because we are working on following directions. That means when the teacher tells us to do something, we do it without asking questions or telling stories. We went to computer lab and did SRA then went to keyboard practice. Tonight is our readers’ theater all about Texas. We are so EXCITED!

Today we went to music. We were able to pick out songs and sing them. During science we learned the life cycle of the frog. We are going to continue learning the life cycle of the frog over the next two weeks while we go to the science lab. We recorded our “I’m a Big Texan” song. Hopefully, it will be on our class website tomorrow.

Today we learned about money. We counted pennies, nickels, and dimes together. This helps us count by 5’s, 10’s, and 1’s. We went to PE and played sock tag. We started our character study over Froggy today. We are going to read a different Froggy book everyday.

Today we did Texas problem solving independently for a grade. Look for it to come home on Monday. We practiced our Texas songs on the stage to prepare for readers’ theatre. At lunch we ate chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, beans, a hot roll, and cinnamon apples. Mrs. Perkins was our substitute in the morning.

T0day we finished our Texas problem solving as a group. Tomorrow we are going to solve at least 4 problems by ourselves. Instead of going to ready bodies we went outside to the playground to play. We finished our “I’m a Big Texan” song. Look for it on our class website Friday.

Since it is Tuesday we went to music to see Mrs. Kimbley. We worked on a song and activity called “On Top of Spaghetti.” For lunch we ate chicken spaghetti, green beans, and a hot roll. We passed out graded papers so look in take home side of folders for those. During math we continued to work on Texas problem solving. Just a reminder that tomorrow is Kindergarten and Pre-K Roundup.

Today we started our shared writing called “I’m a Big Texan.” It is an adaptation of I’m a Little Teapot. We went to PE and had a fun time playing free play. At lunch we ate good chicken wraps, beans, and salad. During math we worked on Texas problem solving doing addition and subtraction.

Spring pictures tomorrow. Bring your 12 eggs and basket tomorrow.

Today we had character education with half of Mrs. Smith’s class. Mrs. Maines taught us about honesty and being true to your friends. Some of us ate ham and cheese wraps for lunch. We went to music with Mrs. Kimbley and worked on the bunny hop since Easter is coming up. We finished our last page of our Texas booklet. Look for it to come home next Monday.
