Easter party note in my folder.

Today we started our Texas booklet. We will work on our booklet until next Monday then we will bring it home. For lunch we ate grilled cheese and mashed smiles from the cafeteria. During music we learned a new song called Jingle Jangle Jingle. At math time we created Texas story boards for our Texas problem solving. Then we went to math work places.

Two very important notes in my folder. Graded papers tomorrow.

Today we did new reading centers, such as, writing stories and letters. We also changed reading center groups and have new classmates with us in centers. In PE we played Chinese Freezetag, January, July, August, and November won. For lunch the cafeteria served burritos with corn and rice.

SPRING BREAK!!!! No school until Monday, March 23.

Today was our last day before starting spring break. We still had to work on our writers’ workshop stories. Kaydyn shared a book about cats, Kaitlee shared about Presidents and dogs, Brinn shared about cute baby animals, and Tanner shared his book All About Missepoo. Also, we went to the science lab to listen to Mrs. Sipes, a dental hygenist, tell us about teeth and taking care of our teeth.

Today was our CHAMPS assembly. We performed an acrostic poem over DILIGENCE. We did a very good job!

Wear Roughneck shirt tomorrow for CHAMPS assembly at 7:55 in the morning.

Today we went to the stage and practiced our CHAMPS assembly. We need to be at school at 7:50 in the morning for our assembly. Today was our day to go to the computer lab with Mrs. Stolle and Mrs. Crossland. We did SRA and keyboard practice. Since it is Thursday, we went to the library and checked out new books. During math we practiced our math skills at math workplaces. At lunch some of us ate steak fingers, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a hot roll.

Spelling test tomorrow.

In math we measured St. Patrick’s Day items for length and heigth using coins. We went to ready bodies and got tickets for rewards for being good and doing the right thing. Kaydyn received the ready bodies CHAMP award today. Today we practiced our big CHAMPS’ assembly over diligence. We will preform it on Friday for the entire primary school.

Spelling test on Thursday.

Today we made a loyalty chain with Mrs. Maines. Loyalty is showing respect to others and respecting things others have. Also, loyalty is doing unto others as you would have others do unto you. This afternoon we went to music with Mrs. Kimbley where we learned as Irish dance.  During shared reading we read a book about teeth. It was called Mrs. Watson Wants Your Teeth. It was fiction and it was really good!

Our CHAMPS assembly will be next Friday, March 13. We will be presenting the character trait diligence. During math we finished our chapter over measurement of length, capacity, and area. In writer’s workshop today we worked on a reading/writing connection titled “The Dentist from the Black Lagoon.”

CHAMPS assembly at 8:00 in the morning. Don’t be late!

Today we had character education with Mrs. Maines. We learned about loyalty. Loyalty is being nice to each other and respecting others. At lunch we ate mashed potatoes, chicken nuggets, hot roll, and broccoli. In math we worked on area. Area is how much something will cover. We went to computer lab and worked on SRA lessons. When we finished our SRA lessons we were allowed to play Math Blaster.

Library tomorrow. Spelling test next Thursday the 12th.

Today we learned more about teeth. You have to brush and floss everyday. In math we learned about capacity – how much an item can hold. During number corner we worked on telling time to the 5 minutes. We went to ready bodies.

Graded papers tomorrow.

We finished our President booklet by completing the last page about a future President. Math workplaces included making fact families, Math Blaster, and sequencing cards. Today was PE day and we played Dr. Dr. After writer’s workshop Katie shared a story about her friend Jasmin, Kaitlee shared a story about Valentine’s, and Cody shared a story he wrote about Clifford.
