Book orders due tomorrow.

Today was our computer lab. We worked on keyboard practice with Mrs. Stolle. We used our miniclocks to work on telling time to the hour today. Tomorrow we will use them to work on telling time to the half hour. We went to the library and checked out new books. Ask me about my book and read it with me. The cafeteria served chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, and hot rolls for lunch – they were YUMMY!

Spelling test tomorrow.

Today we did reading centers as usual. In math we began learning about time. Today’s lesson focused on the minute. We acted out scenarios to see if it took us longer than a minute or less than a minute. We continued working on our rebus writing story as a class. Since today is Wednesday we went to ready bodies with Mrs. Peery. We are contnuing to work on our blog daily so that next week students can begin posting on it.

Book Order in my folder.

Today was a good day. In math we worked on sequencing events, such as, what we do in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We also order events from before school and after school, and before lunch and after lunch. During writing we started our rebus story. It should be ready to view on Friday. Reading centers were new today. This week we are writing about what we do in the cold.

Note in my folder. Today we had a beautiful day for playing on the playground during recess. After recess we ate quesadillas for lunch. In math we worked on fact families and subtraction. During number corner we followed our usual routine. We problem solved, created art, listened to stories, read big books, and wrote stories on the computers during reading centers. After shared reading we did independent reading by ourselves.

Note to parents: No school on Monday, January 19, 2009.
